Bonus Wonder Child: The Desai Wonder Child Challenge, Chapter 3

And welcome back one last time to The Desai Wonder Child Challenge! It's just a few days before Jonah's birthday. When we last saw him, he had thrown his all into becoming Chief of Mischief and was making great progress, handily pissing off most of the adults and elders that had the misfortune to walk by his house. What's he up to now? Let's see . . .

Well, it's the middle of the night and there aren't many walkbys, so Jonah is now working on fishing skill and Angling Ace concurrently. It's all about the multitasking in this challenge!

Once the next day dawns, Jonah heads to the park where he encounters his nemesis, Mortimer Goth. Jonah tries to bind his voodoo doll that he fortunately fished up last night to Mortimer, but I guess his mischief skill isn't high enough and he fails. Looks like he needs to keep bugging the crap out of people until he can get that over with. Luckily, the mischief aspiration became sticky for Jonah, so he had rolled some high-value mischief wants that I had locked overnight, and which he was now free to fulfill.

"Hey, Todd! What's up?"
"Just silently judging you. What's up with you?"
"Oh, I was just telling this lady here all about my job as a criminal mastermind!"
"I see."

After a very mischievous day at the park, Jonah has maxed out mischief. Time to put that skill to good use and complete the aspiration.

"Oh, Lord. Bella, send the children inside and lock the doors."

"What's wrong, dear?"
"It's that damn Desai kid. He's going to try to use voodoo on me and probably clog our sink. Let's just slink away before . . ."
"Mwa ha ha! I've done it."
"You know, Bella, I am feeling both amorous and wet all of the sudden. Let's ignore the Desai boy. I'm sure he won't be too much trouble."
"Thank you, voodoo doll."

Mortimer's instinct was right, though, and Jonah does all he can to make Mortimer's life miserable before clogging their sink and heading out.

To complete the aspiration, Jonah just needs to clog two more sinks, which he does at the Landgraab and BFF households. Yay! Jonah has completed an aspiration, earning an extra trait and lots of aspiration points that can be used to buy other traits.

He's also pretty much got all the aspiratons that have a "be an adult" stage to the point where they can be fulfilled quickly after his birthday, so it's back to skilling. He hasn't touched the family or love aspirations at all yet - the family ones can't be worked on as a teen, and the love one just hasn't come up when he's been so busy.

However, that's about to change. Jonah made a cake for Shades, thereby also increasing his gourmet cooking skill (multitasking!), and invited her over to grow her up. Who else could possibly be worthy of this Wonder Child? As a teen, she's not quite as hipsterish as I would have liked, but that can be remedied one day.

She also unfortunately lost her shades, but that allows us to see how very pretty Savanna actually is. She and Jonah start flirting immediately. Since they're already BFFs, their relationship is easy to build.

Jonah takes Savanna on a couple of dates, thereby fulfilling the bottom levels of both love aspirations and building their pink bar considerably. After that, it's nearly his birthday, so he stops by the museum to admire 3 paintings to complete a Painter Extraordinaire step, then home to skill a little until it's party time.

Judging by the appearance of Todd in his party gear, it must be that time! I kind of can't believe the challenge is over already, although it did take me a while to play it since it wasn't my first priority. Still, one generation goes by pretty fast in the grand scheme of things.

Jonah's family and a few of his guests gather around the cake to wish him a happy birthday . . .

. . . and he looks pretty much exactly the same. Teen to young adult birthdays just aren't that much of a transformation, are they? Jonah now has just a few more hours to complete as many aspiration steps and collect as many traits and skill points as he can. The end of the party, of course, marks the end of the challenge. I also want another gold medal party for those 5 points, so they've got a lot of silly objectives to fulfill as a family.

Jonah is busy accepting various careers and switching aspirations that have "be an adult" as a step to rack up the points when Savanna arrives fashionably late to the party. To my delight, her teen party outfit includes sunglasses! Shades, you're back!

No one had gotten into the cake yet, luckily, so Jonah is able to influence Shades to grow into a young adult like him. We have plans for her, after all. She is happy to oblige, and Jonah's family and friends seem a lot more excited for Shades than they did for him.

Once they're the same age, Jonah proposes to Shades. Todd approves. We need her to accept, but they did just start dating yesterday. On the other hand, they have known each other forever. What will it be?

Aha! A yes! Good choice, Shades.

Shades and Jonah immediately elope, fulfilling the requirement for Soulmates to "be married to BFF." It's not the most romantic or elaborate wedding ever, but hey, he's a Wonder Child and he got married instead of being stranded in an apocalypse. He should be thankful.

As the party winds down and the family finishes the last few party objectives, Fiona, Jude, and Dion reflect on all the work they've done to help Jude achieve his potential. Well done, guys. Also bonus points to Jude and Fiona for not dying during the party despite having shining, full bars. They gave me quite the scare there, but now they'll get to live forever in an unplayed save.

By the way, here's the final state of the house as the party wraps up. Yes, there are two treadmills. I just forgot to delete one after Jonah wanted to buy another one. Anyway, we kept things small and frugal, but Jonah had everything he needed. The party was a success, earning me another 5 points. It's almost time to tally up the points, but first . . .

. . . here's Shades' hipster makeover, sunglasses included, and where she and Jonah will remain for the rest of their time. Kind of a sweet ending, right? Who knew Jonah would find love in his quest to be the most fulfilled sim? I certainly didn't until the very end, but it worked out quite well. Congratulations, Jonah and Savanna Desai.

And now for the points! As you can see, Jonah has 33 traits, meaning we start with 330 points. He also got 10 points for two gold medal parties, as well as 8 for his childhood A, 9 for his teen A, and 9 for his teen job. That just leaves the skills.

(By the way, I know this section and the next one are centered, but I just spent ten minutes trying to get them to appear as they do in my editing view, so I am giving up and just letting them be centered. Sorry.)

Jonah completed all his childhood skills, which earned him a total of 52 points after the 3-point completion bonuses. His skills here add up to another 126 points, again, after two 3-point bonuses for fishing and mischief. Nice. I also want to point out that he has points in every skill available except for herbalism. I didn't get around to that one, but baking, photography, and wellness are all represented here.

All this means that Jonah's total is . . . 544 points! Woo! Not only did I break 400, I breezed right past 500. I learn so much every time I do this challenge that I feel like I could do 600 if I ever do another. It really is a fun challenge, so thanks to Pinstar for that. These have also really helped me with raising kids in my legacy. The most important part, though, is that I had a lot of fun and enjoyed watching Jonah reach his full potential, especially since that involved a lot of mischief and a shot at love. It turned out to be quite the ride!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. Please check this blog in the future for The Silva Saga updates and my legacy blog for The Gregory Legacy updates. Also come visit me at SiMania and Boolprop. Thanks again! <3
